Honduras Awareness

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the celebration of World Mission Sunday. Pope Leo XIV has chosen the theme, “One in Christ, united in mission,” which encourages us to renew our missionary spirit - realizing the needs of those in our community and the world and learning more about each other when we serve together. As we anticipate World Mission Sunday on October 18, we remember Good Shepherd’s mission work in Honduras with the Fray Casimiro Technical Institute in Campamento, Olancho. The students' education is our number one priority with the long-term goal of improving their lives in Honduras. During last year, we have been achieving our goals! • Through our Scholarship Program: 104 scholarships awarded to the bilingual school and the Technical Institute • Through our English Tutoring Program: every week, dedicated tutors meet virtually with 2nd-10th grade students to read to them in order to improve their English pronunciation and comprehension. • Through our Religious Education Program: students participate in sacrament preparation classes, monthly Mass, and pastoral youth groups We are proud of the 90 students who will graduate at the end of this school year!
